Layout Description

The Georgia, Alabama & Tennessee Railroad is a proto-freelanced Southeast railroad, primarily featuring the Central of Georgia, with occasional connections to Southern, Atlantic Coast Line, Seaboard Air Line, and L&N. The railroad operates a mix of freight and passenger trains, utilizing a waybill car forwarding system.

The layout is currently under construction, with the mainline benchwork completed. The upper level, which represents Chattanooga, and the lower level, representing Savannah, both have staging areas that are finished. The mainline has been completed between the two levels of staging, and the branch line on the lower level is also complete.

The design includes a point-to-point mainline and two branch lines, featuring a total of 17 feet of staging across the upper and lower levels. Additionally, the layout incorporates four reverse loops for turning trains, allowing for continuous operation on open house dates, and features a unique external helix.
